Sarah Russo

Sarah grew up in New Jersey, where she was surrounded by many different cultures, languages, and ways of life. After working in her university English department’s writing center as an ESL tutor, she knew that she wanted to commit to sharing her love of learning with others. With English as her first language, she started learning Spanish during a study abroad program in Spain and was immediately hooked. 

After graduation, she moved back to Spain to become an English teaching assistant, while pursuing her Masters in Teaching. Eventually, this led her to teaching in Colombia, where she has taught students of all ages and backgrounds. She is passionate about making learning approachable and enjoyable through genuine interest and connection. 

Outside of teaching, Sarah spends her time hiking with her dog Nelly and exploring new coffee shops in her neighborhood. She is thrilled to be joining the vibrant Freestyle team and is excited to continue to perfect her craft using the Freestyle method.
