Monica Medina

SPANISH INSTRUCTOR
Born in California, raised in Mexico, Spanish is Monica’s first language. Her English learning journey began in kindergarten in Mexico, but as is the case for many people, those school lessons didn’t leave her very proficient. When she moved to Texas in 2010 to raise her children, she began to gain a more in depth understanding of English, but even there, there’s always someone who speaks Spanish! Now that she’s in Montana, Monica finally feels like she has the opportunity to speak English regularly and to use it in her everyday life.

Her passion for Mexican culture and language are her greatest motivators for teaching and sharing with others. While Monica’s bilingual teaching experience ranges from Montessori education through adults and professionals, Monica especially appreciates her 3 years of online teaching experience as it offers such rich engagement while connecting with learners from all over the world.

When not teaching, Monica enjoys outdoor activities, cooking, meeting new people, and sharing experiences. Monica is excited to be part of Team Freestyle because of the emphasis Freestyle places on the power of language to connect people. She also loves the professional development opportunities, exploring new ways of teaching, and growing with a team of dedicated instructors.

With her genuine passion for the Spanish language, Monica can’t wait to inspire more learners!
