SPANISH & ENGLISH INSTRUCTOR
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah and raised in a household where Spanish was spoken at home and English at school, Kenya Rivera developed a deep appreciation for the power of language from a young age. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in TESOL.
At the age of 13, she embarked on a transformative journey to Mexico where she not only honed her Spanish skills but also embraced the cultural nuances of the language. Kenya's quest for linguistic proficiency continued as she attended a bilingual high school, refining her English language skills and her cross-cultural understanding. With a solid foundation in both languages, Kenya's teaching journey began in Mexico, where she dedicated two years to teaching English. She loved seeing her students’ eyes light up with understanding when learning another language.
When Kenya is not teaching, you can find her playing the piano, reading, crocheting, or eating some delicious pozole. She is ecstatic to be a part of Freestyle Languages where the learner’s experience is at the heart of the model.
