Gabriela was born and raised in San Diego, California. She grew up in a bilingual and bicultural household, speaking both English and Spanish. Inspired by her Mexican heritage and experiences traveling to Mexico and Colombia, Gabriela has developed a passion for the Spanish language and all things Hispanic/Latinx. Her appreciation and love for other cultures was also influenced by her soccer career. As a former NCAA Division 1 soccer player, Gabriela had the opportunity to travel throughout the United States, connecting with other soccer-aficionados from around the world.
She is a recent graduate from Gonzaga University where she studied Marketing and Spanish. In her free-time, Gabriela loves to road trip, explore national parks, hike, ski, and go to the beach. She is also a passionate dog mom, who is rarely seen without her loving and energetic rescue blue-heeler, Bleu. Gabriela is excited to work for Freestyle Languages and to be part of a team that emphasizes the importance of diversity and community.
